Soft woven wraps are best suited for the newborns. It is important to choose the right weight and blend. Soft light-weight wraps are easy to use and tie. The weight should be 190-230 g/m2. The best fabrics for the newborns are cotton, bamboo, merino wool or silk. They are soft enough from the start and any breaking in period is not needed. Extra softness can be added with special weaving and post processes. Extra soft cotton wraps for newborns are offered by Fidella, Tula or Diva Milano. Wraps by Yaro, Little Frog or Didymos are also good. Yaro and Little Frog are great affordable options whereas Didymos offers high quality with limited editions.

Wraps made with Bamboo fabric are a great option for smaller babies and for summer days. It has an excellent cooling effect, but it cannot bear heavier weight as 100% cotton wraps. So the wearing period will be shorter. Wraps with linen or hemp fabric can also be used for newborns, but they are more suitable for experienced parents. It is not the best option for beginners as they need some breaking in period to be soft enough for newborns.
